Hamilton, who was the final saddle bronc rider, shattered Daines' and Bewley's first place dreams as he struck point paydirt on "Casino" for a score of 88, w hich netted him first place in the saddle bronc event in the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Vernal. Hamilton's Saturday night performance perfor-mance earned him $623.28. Daines rode "Hyrum Special" and Bewley dominated "Lop Ear". The two saddle bronc riders pocketed $389.55 as they split second place. Vern Eames ; placed fourth with a score of 83 on "Hang 'Em High" and nabbed $155.82. Eames is from American Falls, Idaho. Bob Sailors was in first place after the first two days of the rodeo due to a 79 score on "Sandy" Thursday, but Danny Brady of Henderson, Nevada bumped Sailors into second place with an 81 ride on "Alley Strip" Saturday in the bareback bronc event. Brady pocketed $599.76 and Sailors earned $449.82. Weed Folkman, Plain City, Utah, placed third with a 75 ride on "Hillard Flat" and nabbed $299.88. Mark Doig, Blackfoot, Idaho and Ralph Fritzland, Rifle, Colorado split fourth place at 74 and won $74.97. Glen Younger of Grand Junction pocketed first place in the bull riding event with a score of 81 during the Thursday performance. Younger netted $787.92. Downey Quails, Twin Falls,- Idaho nabbed second place at 77 points and pocketed $590.94. Rocky Hickman, California and Shane Prescott, Twin Falls, Idaho split third and fourth places at 73 and won $295.47. The calf roping division contained some top ranked ropers in Dave Brock, 1978 world calf roping champion and Leo Caramillo, 1975 all-around all-around champ and world team roping champ, but none of them placed in the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo. Far-mington's Far-mington's Lance Robinson defeated the world champs as he placed first in the calf roping event with a time of 9.9. Robinson nabbed $776.16. John Roth-well. Roth-well. Hvannis, Neb., netted second place at 10.1 and won $582.12. Woody Shettel, Glendalej Arizona pocketed third place at 10.4 and bagged $388.08. Gene Dahl, Ogden, collected fourth place with a time of 8.2 and won $170.52. The defending world team roping champions, Tee Woolman, Llano, Texas and Io Camarillo, Lockeford. California gained no time in the event in the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo. Jake Milton, Meeker, Colorado, Bret Tonozzi, Fruita, Colorado and Jake Barnes and Allen Bach, Livington, California, 1979 world team roping champion, split first and second place with times of 7.1. The four team ropers split $2,010.07. Vernal's Hal Mecham and Roosevelt's Wane Workman garnered third place with a time of 7.5. Woody Shettel and Bill Lake, Glendale, Arizona, netted fourth place at 7.8. Mecham and Workman won $360.30 and Shettel and Lake netted $265.48. Bob Caldwell and Rick Massey, Vernal, nabbed fifth place at 88 and won $170.67. Matt Silveria, Nipono, Calif., and George Richards, Humboldt, Arizona, captured sixth place at 12.0 as it danced on his back, shoulder and arm during dur-ing Thursday's Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo performance. per-formance.
