Ten employees retire from Uintah schools Ten employees of the Uintah School District are retiring this year after as much as 34 years service in the district. Heading the list of retired is Leland Perry who was a custodian at Lapoint for 20 years at Vernal Junior High for eight years and at West Junior High for three years. Also listed are Jack Allred who was a bus driver, custodian and maintenance worker on the West Side for 22 years; Amy Lube, accompanist choral groups at Vernal Jr. High School for 20 years; Arvid Merkley who served 21 years as bus driver and at the school lunch warehouse; Oral Merkley who was a cook and unit manager at Vernal Jr. High for 19 years; and Delphia Arnold who was a school lunch cashier and cook on the West Side for 10 years. Zola Allred is retiring after 10 years service as a teacher's aide at Tood for five years and West Jr. High for five years. Lucille Lipphardt is retiring after 29 years as a teacher at Alterra High School and librarian at Vernal Jr. High School. Donal Simmons is retiring after 26 years; five as bus driver and custodian at Todd and Whiterocks for 21 years. Ashel Evans is retiring after 34 years as a teacher as Naples, Maeser and Central, principal at Jensen, Naples, Central, district office director of curriculum and superintendent superin-tendent of schools. A dinner was held last Thursday evening for the retiring employees. the former Saundra Richens, daughter of the late Deloy and Ina Richens. People who came for the Winn family reunion held in the new park. in Roosevelt and stayed at the Beatrice home over the 4th od July were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Winn and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Williams, Riverside, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Winn and daughters, Calgary, Canada; Mr. and Mrs. Scott Winn and son, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. John Percival and family, Farmington and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Winn of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Gil Burkman and children and Beatrice Lundberg spent three days in Weber Canyon attending a Johnson recunion. |
