Show MILLION DOLLARS FOR UTAH FARMUltH FROM AAA Approximately $200,000 will be paid by the federal government govern-ment to Utah hog growers in return for their pledge to reduce re-duce hog production according to the specifications of the AAA. This announcement was made hy Wl W. Owfcns' aeslstanjt director of the Utah Extension Sorvice, following a meeting of the state board of review, which organization was appointed by AAA officals to check all corn-hog corn-hog contracts before sending them to Washington, D. C. for final annrovfll. i Benefit payments for wheat and hog reduction will add more than one million dollars to the farm income of Utahn's for the first two payments on the two contracts, Mr. Owens said. A final check-up is being made on the corn-hog contracts and within a few days those signed by Utah's growers should be placed before Secretary H. A Wallace for his consideration. An organization is now being ejected for the inspection of contracted wheat acreage in the state. Machinery for this work was set in motion last week by J. H. Lynch, representative of the AAA. The inspection will be under the supervision of the Extension Service through a state wheat agent, check-up worker and local farm supervisors. "The government Is serious in its attitude toward crop reduction re-duction and officials will require a reasonable compliance with contracts," Mr. Lynch Bald. |
