Show C OE V HOLDS BUSINESS MKETING The St. George Chamber ot Commerce held a business meeting meet-ing the fore part of the week at which several problems came up for discusion. Mr. Moody, secretary of the Chamber was in receipt of a letter let-ter from the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce in which they expressed ex-pressed their regret at the dissap-pointment dissap-pointment and poor showing that the Airplane Good-Will trip had made here in St. George. The stated that under the circumstances circumstan-ces they were returning the con tribution that St. George gave to ward the expence of the trip. It had been thought best fo - the Chamber of Commerce to as sume the responsibility for pay ing for the expense of mstainn lighting equipment for the "D' so the following contribution were turned over to them an they will pass the money on t the Southern Utah Power Con pany for the cost oi mstaiauuu-Power mstaiauuu-Power for the operating of the lights will be furnished by the Power company. Following are the organizations that contributed: contribut-ed: Alumni of Dixie, $86.48, Ami-ta Ami-ta $10.00, Student Body $10.00, Dixie College Annual committee, $1100 Sophomore Class $3.53, Freshman Class $4.50 and the balance of $13.90 by the Chamber of Commerce, making a total of $139 41 Morris Miles has been making a survey to see what would be required re-quired to bring the light on the "D" up to the standard that is desired. This is being done at nf Mr. Gardner, man- cue i cm""J1' ager of the Southern Utah Power company. Mr. Gardner has agreed to furnish whatever amount of electricity is needed to secure the desired result. . Answers have been received by the Chamber from the resolu-. resolu-. tions that were sent to officials recommending the Dixie Develop- ment. They are of an encourag tag nature, and all indications point to the project being approv ed. |
