Show Locals Win Over Beaver Score 8 to 3 By scoring 8 runs in the 2nd inning in-ning St. George established a lead that Beaver was unable to overcome over-come and therby won the game played by these teams on Sunday last in the local ball park. Final score was St. George 8 Beaver S. With the replacing of Harris bf Larson, who was knocked out ot the box, the Beaver team settled, down and kept St. George from scoring any more runs, although the local boys were in position to score several times. Larson pitched pit-ched a fine game of ball and if he had been in 'from the beginning the St. George -team might not have won even though they did tiold the Beaver team to A scoiwi. ,Ed Lund for St. George, pitched pitch-ed a fine game of ball. It is questionable ques-tionable if any of the three runs scored by Beaver were really earned runs, many of the fans maintaining that all of them could be credited to errors by the St. George players. This is the first game that Ed has won against this team. St. George lost all ot their games to .this club last year. The good all around play of the local team was a welcome sight to followers of the team who saw them play such ragged ball against La Verkin on Memorial Day. It is still quite -evident that some of the players might improve im-prove their game H. they would only come out to practice dur.Bg the week.
