Show "Alice Adams" at Capitol Sun. Talent and courage are the t am-mates which win success on the screen as well as in everyday walks of life. That is the lesson taught by the biography of Katharine Kath-arine Hepburn, able star of RKO Radio's "Alice Adams." It is also brought home in a dramatic fashion fash-ion in the screen adaptation of Booth Tarkington's Pulitzer Prize novel. In this realistic film of life in a small Midwestern community, com-munity, Katharine Hepburn portrays por-trays a girl who stakes everything on her ability to shake off the shackles of poverty and social obscurity ob-scurity and win love and a place in the sun. Heartache and disillusionment disill-usionment follow each other in quick succession, but courage and faith triumph eventually. A fine supporting cast includes , Fred Stone, Fred MacMurray, Evelyn Eve-lyn Venable, Frank Albertson, Ann Shoemak ir and Charles Grapewin. George Stevens directed. |
