Show The Newsie Boys, my hat's off to a newsie, How I love to hear him shout And they'll show appreciation In a way we'll understand. These same boys must fill our places, And we know they'll do it well; 'Twill not be what you or I do, But what they do that will tell. ED TTJTTLE as i see tne pep and energy With which he gets about. I am filled with admiration Of his carefree sort of way, As he covers up the troubles That beset him every day. He gets joy from meeting people. Greets them with a smiling face; Has a spirit worth a million as He fills his chosen place. He'll not cause you any trouble If to him "you'll only give Just a little kind attention And a fighting chance to live. I have often stopped to ponder Of the part some lad may play As he hollas out his "papies," Trying hard to make It pay; If, perhaps, some trip he covets Needs some books or wants a wheel Or if someone is depending On him for a meagre meal. So, I say to you, "let's hats off To the boys give them a hand." |
