O His parents parents joined the Mormon church about out 1835 1535 and moved to Kirkland then the he headquarters of tho the Mormon lormon church Five years lat later r they moved mo to Nam oo Nauvoo oo where they remained until 1816 when tho the exodus started to Utah The Cluffs remained at Council Bluffs la Ja until 1850 1860 when they came to Utah and made their home homo in Provo Mr duff Cluff spent a great part of Ct lila his Ufo life In religious louB work worl He with eighteen eight eight- een others was sent to perform missionary missionary mis mis- work In the Sandwich islands Inlands remaining thero four tour years Ho He then went ent on a mission to Denmark in 1859 remaining there thero three years cars Return Return- InS fug ng to Utah In 1861 ho married Ann nn Whipple In 1865 ho he was again sent to the Sandwich Islands for tor missionary mission mission- slon- slon a. a arv ary 10 work Returning to Utah he way was called upon to preside over o tho the Mormon settlements In Morgan l Summit and Wasatch counties In 1869 1569 ho was sent to o preside over Mormon missions in III Scandinavia Returning after two years ho was made president of oC Summit Summit Summit Sum Sum- mit stake comprising all the settlements settle settle- ments of ot l Summit county Utah and of or western W Wyoming Ho occupied this church position until his retirement from active life lire In 1901 Mr Ir Cluff is survived by his widow t Mrs Ann Whipple Cluff Clute and b by the following children W WV V Cluff Jr ir Salt Lake Mrs 1 W W.
