Show ADDITIONAL PAVING BEING CONSIDERED CITIZENS INQUIRE POSSIBILITIES OF EXTENDING WORK A new twist has developed to the paving situation in Milford with the proposal to pave Main street further north than present plans call for. The present plans call for paving up as far as the Methodist church, but property prop-erty owners in the. next four blocks north have become imbued with the thoughts of having the pavement run on to the edge of town. At least, every block in this extent is represented by a citizen who would bring the hard surfaced streets on north. If this is brought up for vote of the property owners, t will not hinder hin-der the work of paving lower Main street through the business section. An mprovement district could be organized or-ganized and bids received for the work, while paving was being poured downtown. The contractor paving the lower end would be in position then to submit the favorable bid for the rest of the work. The approximate cost of the additional addi-tional stretch would be about four dollars per front foot. This cost could be spread over from five to ten years. |
