Tho machines rushed down Hon den avenue and swung around tho corner, cor-ner, at the Long Island railroad station, sta-tion, on two wheels. As tho autamobllo shot across tho plaza In front of tho ferry cntranco a largo baggage truck, heaped high with llfo preservers, camo along, pushed by half a dozon porters. Tho baggage truck struck tho automobile amidships and tho load of llfo preservers turn bled on top of tho two men In tho automobile. au-tomobile. They shouted for help, but their cries were quickly stilled by tho llfo preservers. A big crowd saw tho accident, and when they had recovered from laughing laugh-ing tho two men wero rescued. They escaped with crushed hats and a fow scratches. They declined to give tholt names.
