Show SOCIETY Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Guy Burton was hostess host-ess to seven members of Neighborhood Neigh-borhood Sewing club at a prettily pret-tily appointed dessert luncheon at her home Wednesday evening, eve-ning, July 12. Miss Lela Moosman entertained entertain-ed the group with two vocal solos, so-los, "Always," and "Beautiful Dreamer," accompanied by Mrs. Elroy Duncan at tne piano. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED Leta Haddock celebrated her seventeenth birthday with a dinner din-ner at the Frontier Grill on July 15. Enjoying the occasion with Leta were her mother, Mrs. Lu-ey Lu-ey Haddock, Lewis Martin and Dan White, workers for the Baptist Home Mission Board who are doing missionary work in this area, and Charles Ray, pastor of the Roosevelt Baptist church. CANYON PICNIC A group of Roosevelt's younger young-er set enjoyed a picnic Thursday Thurs-day evening in Uintah canyon. Participating in the fun were Bonnie White, Earl McKenna, Barbara Russon, Lowell Hall, Maurine Gilbert, Ray Neilson, Joyce Jordan and Howard Galloway. Gall-oway. CONTRACT CLUB Adding interest to this week's social calendar was the canyon party Saturday evening, July 15, at the Clair Ashton cabin in Uinta canyon at which Mr. and Mrs. Ashton entertained members of Contract club. A tempting buffet supper was featured, following which five tables were arranged for bridge. Their guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch, Mr- and Mrs. Pa.ul Wilkins, Mr, and Mrs, Sam Weiss, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jordan, Jor-dan, and Mr. and Mrs, Sterling Collette. |
