Show 'NO EXPIRATION DATE SET ON FOOD STAMPS New Ruling Made To Aid Storekeepers As Well As Housewives The office of Price Administration Administra-tion has cancelled all expiration dates for red and blue' food ration stamps in a move designed to provide pro-vide "major relief" for storekeepers storekeep-ers and housewives. Henceforth, ration stamps will be valid indefinitely and housewives house-wives need not worry about "wasting" them if not used before a certain date. Price Administrator Chester Bowles said the move was made possible by the use of the new ration ra-tion tokens. Coupons will continue to be validated val-idated in the same way, but once valid, a stamp will be good for making rationed food purchases for an indefinite period. The same plan of eliminating expiration dates of stamps was put into effect for shoe rationing last fall, and more recently was ordered for sugar rationing. Operation of the plan, an OPA spokesman said, will not be apparent ap-parent until May 20, the expiration expira-tion date of the now-valid red and blue stamps. Blue stamps are being be-ing put into use at the rate of 5, or 50 points the first of each month. Red stamps are being validated vali-dated at the rate of three, or 30 points, every second Sunday in a month. |
