Show J. STEPHESON TO SPEAK AT KIWANIS MEETING Stanley J. Stepheson, executive secretary of the Utah Manufacturers Manufac-turers Association, is to give the address at the Kiwanis meeting this evening. He will talk on "Keep America, American," which is a major project of Kiwanians this year. The meeting will be under direction di-rection of C. G. Salisbury' toast-master, toast-master, and musical numbers will be given. The club meeting last Thursday evening was for farmers, Future Farmers of America, and Kiwanis club members and was sponsored by the Utah-Idaho Sugar company, compa-ny, the Springville Banking company, com-pany, and the Kiwanis club. Douglas Scalley, general manager mana-ger of the' Utah-Idaho Sugar Co., was the principal speaker and he outlined the development of the sugar industry in these parts and discussed the importance of growing grow-ing sugar beets at this time. The program included a violin selection by Russell Palfreyman, accompanied by Robert Thorn, and dance numbers by Marilyn Hansen and Catherine Mendenhall. The attendance prizes were awarded to Edward Clyde, club member, Lewis Wing, Mapleton farmer, and Erwin Anderson, of the Future Farmers of America. In attendance were approximately approximate-ly 125 guests and Kiwanis club members. |
