Show The News in a Nutshell .Every-day Events Carefully Chronicled Mrs. D. M. Draper and sister, Miss Lucile R idlers, were passengers to Salt Lake, on Saturday. J. R. Goddard, R. D. Lomber and P. C. Nyswenger, "landseekers" from Fresno, California, spent a few days this week in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Hauks and family left Tuesday for Parowan, where they will visit for a couple of weeks with Mrs. HanliB1 parents. Wm. McEwen, a prominent Salt Lake banker, was in Milford early in the week on business. Mr. McEwen is President of the Zion Savings Bank. Last Sunday was "Children's Day" at the M. E. Sunday School, the exercises exer-cises being held in the evening with songs and recitations by the children. The church was filled to capacity. State Bank Examiner J. Parle White was in Milford on Tuesday, on his regular tour of inspection, and it is, needless to say, found the local in stitution in exceptionally good condition. con-dition. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Street are enjoying en-joying visits from their respective mothers, Mrs. Street of Coalville and Mrs. Folland of Salt Laks. Of course, the principal attraction is the brand-new brand-new grandson. Joe Hanlon, formerly employed locally lo-cally by the Salt Lake Route, hai accepted a position as fireman, with run out of Salt Lake, and has removed to that city. This is distinct and deserved de-served promotion. T. E. Hunt, Special Agent of the Department of the Interior, Washington Washing-ton has been in Milford several days, looking over the lofal homestead propositions and other matters connected con-nected with the department. Contractor B'irton has finished the work of sidewalking and otherwise improving and beautifying the Vic Carlson properties on Main Street, including the plantingof lawns. , This ia the kind of work that helps Milford. There will be an important special meeting of the Home and fichuol Organization next Thursday at 8 p. m. in the High School. Every citizen is urged to be present as school matters of vital importance will be discussed. Sheriff R. B. Cutler of Beaver, was a visitor at the NEWS office this week. As noted elsewhere Governor Spry and a party of Salt Lake Route officials will be in Milford Saturday as guests of the Delta Land and Water Company. Com-pany. D. O. Tullock and family of Newhouse, spent Saturday Satur-day and Sunday in town, en route to Washington, D.O., where they havi' purchased a home and will remain there permanently. Before departing, they were entertained by Mrs. D. P. Van Fleet and her daughters, Mrs. French and Mrs. Manuel. Bert Ryssman was a vistor from Maione 'he first of the week. He was accompanied by his cousin, R. Dinkier, of Anaheim, California and the latter showed hi3 good sense by subscribing to the NEWS, the fo-mer already being be-ing on the rolls. Mr. Dinkier expects to leave this week for his California home but will return soon, as he has land holdings at Malone. |
