Show Town Is Again Lucky Owing To Fire Department and Wind Condition! A small blaze which started in a rubbish-hep fire in the rear of the D. E. Kirk property, Tuesday afternoon, after-noon, was prevented from assuming more threatening proportions only because be-cause the wind was blowing in i convenient direction. As it was, the firemen had to hustle to save a nerbjr barn from destruction. Had the wind set in from the north it i likely that a disastrous fire would have resulted. The trouble started, as stated, in a rubbish fire which was supposed to have been extinguished, but which was fanned by tbe wind and communicated com-municated to a wood pile nearby. |
