SALE OF THE DODGE MINE The Favorable Showing in the Rising Sun William Johnston recorder for Gold Mountain district says the Richfield Advocate has recently purchased W C Dodges entire interest in the Fort Dodge group of claims on Gold mount ain The Dodge share was a trifle over Onehalf and the remainder is vested in W F Snyder of this city Messrs Johnston and Snyder therefore are now in full control of this promising group which is well situated In the center of the transle formed by lines drawn from the Annie Laurie to the Congress thence to the Breckenridge Some mighty fine looking quartz has been taken from the Fort Dodge and while the group has not been developed to a great extent there seems everv reason to believe it the sort of good thing to push along Mr Johnston is at present cooking for the force of men employed on the Miller mine He says it will be folly to attempt any outdoor work on Gold mountain sooner than the first of next month as the snow is still seven feet deep on a level THE RISING SUN A letter recently received from J M Bolitho brings encouraging news of the Rising Sun mine which is in the Marysvale district of Mount Baldy A tunnel in the Sun owned by Judge WJ W Wallace and Mr Bolitho had been driven 110 feet last year when a horse was encountered For 30 feet the hole pierced naught hut barren rock there not being left a trace of the handsome ore vein that had nreviouslv been fol lowed In 140 feet from the mouth there were traces of the ledge again visible but it was only in broken and irregular formation Work on the tunnel tun-nel was suspended last December and for two months the sround lay idle while two men were engaged in building build-ing a blacksmith shop and cabin About the first of March Mr Bolitho accompanied accom-panied by his mountainloving better half took possession of the newly erected erect-ed dwelling and resumed work on the Rising Suns tunnel Twenty feet more has fetched them into the well defined lead again and the ore whose picked specimens have shown fabulous values looks better and more plentiful thane than-e before The tunnel is now some 170 feet long following an almost horizontal hori-zontal vein Jn addition to it there Is a 60foot drift on the property
