yesterday that I was sold on assays showing values of 1 3 per cent lead 60 ounces silver and 5 in gold to the ton The Humbug whiclj is a new producer has made a wonder ful record during its brief career and it I is given out that it has all the earmarks of being a regular shipper of high grade oreO O S Holderman of this city who has been engaged during the past winter at the Chrystal mine near Marysvale who Is spending a few days in ZIon states that the mine is looking well Mr Holderman also says that the snowfall has been very heavy In the vicinity of the mine and that himself and companions com-panions have virtually been snowbound for the past few months Bishop L G Hardy of this city who has the direction of the development of the Jennie mine In hand expects to leave for Connor Creek Cassia county Idaho within the next few days for the purpose pur-pose of making an examination of the work being done on the property and as soon as the roads become settled and the snow goes off It is believed that another an-other shipment of ore will be made from this promising new producer I The Utah was In the market yesterday with a shipment of ore that was sold on controls showing values of 3S percent per-cent lead and 2CO ounces In silver to the ton It is expected that the Utah will resume the payment of dividends this month and it is given out as a straight tip that the company will Rive its shareholders share-holders a double dividend this month or 4 cents a share From all accounts the I Utah Is showing up In excellent shape and It gives promise of holding its own In the future as a dividend payer Encouraging reports continue to come in from the Granite mountain district and it is beleved that this will be a lively camp the coming summer especially especi-ally as it Is said that quite a number of new operators will set their stakes there this year among the number being some Texas capitalists who will do some extensive ex-tensive development on property acquired by them last fall Some very promising ledges of ore have been uncovered on Granite mountain during the past few months and it is announced that at least 25 claims will be developed in the camp this season It is expected that the copper mines owned by the Bourne Mining Milling I company which are located about 60 miles north of Wells Nev will be thoroughly developed this season and a I number of the officers and stockholders of the company are preparing for a trip up Into that region with the intention I of remaining there all summer It is stated that there Is a wonderful surface showing on this property and If the deposit de-posit proves to be a permanent one there Is no doubt but that this will open out Into one of the heaviest producers of copper to be found in this Silver Extracting company of America and Dr Forrest the inventor of the McArthurForrest process of ore reduction who arrived in I the city yesterday will leave for Mercur this morning in company with President John Dern of the Mercur company It I Is the intention of Messrs Anderson and Forrest to visit all of the leading mines I of the camp It Is reported that the Men cur company Is negotiating for better I terms on the royality that it is paying for the use of the process and also that I the cyanide people if they cannot come to terms with the Companies using the process without the payment
