Show Music Program Presented at Chamber Meet A special musical program was held at the monthly Sugar House Chamber of Commerce meeting, Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Weasku Inn. Entertainers were arranged for by Norval J. Gal-lacher, Gal-lacher, manager of the King's Piano Shop, 2231 So. 7th East Street. Ben S. Brewster, performed as a mandolinist, Alta Garner accompanied on the piano, and Gerda Sentker was accordionist and vocalist. They provided music mu-sic during the luncheon and for a few minutes afterwards. Then Mr. Gallacher led the Chamber in a "community sing," featuring featur-ing "Jingle Bells" and "Home on the Range." Winners of the lighting contest con-test were announced by Al Leick of Utah Power & Light. John C. Barnes introduced two new applicants for Chamber membership, mem-bership, John E. De Haan, of the De Haan Wallpaper Co., 2307 Highland Drive and A. E. Smith of the 2X4 Paint Store of 2113 South 5th East. Ray D. Free, Chamber president presi-dent who conducted the meeting, meet-ing, introduced Capt. Rountree of the U. S. Army Air Forces Recruiting Service. Capt. Rountree Roun-tree addressed the members briefly on the need for intelligent intelli-gent cooperation between the Army and businessmen in the community in keeping the nation na-tion alert and prepared. |
