Show EMC Lions Back Purchase Of Civic Center Upon the strong recommendation recommenda-tion of the East Mill Creek Lions, the Salt Lake County commission last week purchased purchas-ed a large building to be used as a community center and placed plac-ed in the East Mill Creek park. The building is approximately three stories high and is 35 fe'-t wide by 10 feet long. Includ-' Includ-' ed in trie purchase are some 3000 folding-type seats. The building build-ing houses a large stage and an efficient heating plant, according 3 to Joe Holland, publicity chairman chair-man of the East Mll Creek Lions. The Lions hope to have the new community center moved to its permanent location in approximately ap-proximately one month. They will furnish the funds for one-half one-half of the installation charges, Mr. Holland reported. One of the first projects the Lions will undertake on the new building will be the laying of a maple wood floor. President of the EMC Lions is Roy Anderson. Members of the park committee, under the chairmanship of Roy Tanner, are: Clyde Reavely, Don Shipp ' and John Neff. Also instru mental in getting the building were Lion President Anderson, Frank and Wayne Stillman and Dent Rogers. The building is presently located lo-cated at the air base at the Salt Lake City airport. Before it can be moved to East Mill Creek, it must be dismantled. |
