Rood, Bransford apartments, who has been associated in Salt Lake with various business interests and -'public, utilities for thirty-three vears. will sever his business connections he within t lie next t wo weeks and will leave with his family for !New York City, whore he will lie personal representative of J. C. J'enney of the Penney chain of retail stores in t he I'nited States. Mr. Rood began his business career in Salt Lake and was married in this city. For a number of years he was president of the Consolidated Railway and Lower company when the traction lines of Salt Lake were controlled by that company under the ownership of A. AY. McCune. Later he was in charge of the associated as-sociated business of tho Ontario Silver Sil-ver Mining company and the Daly Mining company at Park City. The Naildriver mine, which 1ms recently taken an upward trend on the Salt Lake mining exchange, was pnioted by Mr. Rood, who organized a company com-pany and had charge of the exploration explora-tion work at the property for several years. "We regret very much leaving our friends in Salt Lake," said Mr. Roorl yesterday, ' ' but I feel that my new work will offer me a. larger field' and will be thoroughly interesting. There are Penney stores in 250 cities in the country. Most of these are in the west. r ' |
