The Harvard Har-vard university football team which will Invade the west to play a leading Pacific coait eleven at Pasadena on New Year's dciy, will ho virtually, the same as that which went through the recent reason without defeat. In connection w ith the announcement of Harvard j; acceptance of the invitation to play at the Carnival of Roses celebration, it v.-a fa id today that twenty-three players would bo taUun on the trip. A canvass- of the Crimson players who won their letters against Princeton and Ysje, and leading substitutes, showed that almost all -u ere available. One or two may be lost because of recently developed de-veloped academic di I ficulties. and two others said they might wish to pass Christmas with their families, having been in the army service for the last two i Christmas seasons. The team wiil include Captain Murray. ; the Crimson quarterback: Eddie Casey, i the crack halfback, whose shifty open I T'ieid runninc, forward pass reception and , defensive play gave him high place among I eastern players, and the Horveen broth-! broth-! ers. one of whom, Ralph, k!eka far and , true for field goals. Active practice prac-tice will begin Monday. Play will be held in the stadnjm when possible, and prob-nbiy prob-nbiy in an armory in Boston when weather conditions make outdoor work impracticable. |
