Show DEATH OF ELLEN W WINDER the public in general genera and the friends of bishop john B R winder vinder in particular will be greatly shocked hooked to learn of the death of his wife which mad ad event occurred yesterday monday afternoon at half ban past four o alock the deceased lady has had several severe attacks ot et heart trouble during the past three mouths month and the family had been warned that her death would in all likelihood be sudden and might t ie 9 looked for at any time but no on one e likes to prepare for the death of loo a lov loved ed one and the sorrow that cancia came yesterday was wan quite as bitter as though there had been no expectation of it what ever moreover slater glater winder had been unwontedly cheerful and well during the day a neighbor had called and the two were engaged in pleasant conversation without any premonition the grim visitor entered and apparently without a palo pain all was over sister ellen walters winder wan wall born at liverton tiverton Ti verton devonshire on t a ath of april 1822 and was married to john B R winder in london on the he of november 1846 1845 the couple emigrated to america in 1858 1853 undertaking the tedious ocean voyage with their birin baby girls not yet three months old they settled in the fourteenth ward of this city and lived there until 1872 bhea they moved to the twelfth ward where they have resided ever since sister winder was the mother of ton ten children five of whom are living she leaves also algo twenty grandchildren and by all these theme she will be scarcely jew jess missed and mourned than by others to whom she has acted the mothers s part in oil all gentleness and conscientiousness in her inclinations she a voided avoided everything that had a tendency to display or prom Lenee enee while in her home life she was a model and her example was prized by everyone that know knew her complying with what would have been her own desires it has boon been do decided to hold the funeral at the residence on third east street between south temple and first south streets the house is not large enough to accommodate all who would like to attend but the family feel that it is horned ir the place where the dear deceased lived and where she died |
