" , A Fj Vl Viewmont runner Ryan Anderson Ander-son and Woods Cross volleyball player Marci Heaps are this week's Davis County Clipper Little Caesar's Pizza Athletes of the Week. Both will receive certificates certifi-cates from the Clipper, as well as pizzas from Little Caesar's Pizza of Bountiful. Anderson led the talented Viewmont boys' cross country team to the Region Four championship cham-pionship last Thursday at Sugar-house Sugar-house Park. The junior harrier captured cap-tured the individual title, and will lead the Vikings into state competition, competi-tion, held before press time yesterday. yester-day. Viewmont is one of the favorites for the title. Heaps, a 6-3 senior who is being heavily recruited for basketball, had her best week of the year in leading the Wildcats to a pair of wins. She has alternated shifts with fellow star Jodie Warhurst to give the Wildcats a strong punch at the net. Other athletes deserving recognition recogni-tion include Bountiful football players Sharif Hadley (a previous winner) and Mike Horsley, Viewmont's Shandell Smoot and Woods Cross quarterback Steve Worthen. Female athletes include Warhurst and Amy Mason of-Woods of-Woods Cross, Viewmont's Becky Yeates and Stephanie Spendlove (a previous winner in cross country, also a region tidist), and Bountiful's Lisa Wilkinson.
