Show Viewmont runners capture state cross-country tide SALT LAKE CITY Viewmont High captured the state 4-A's boys' cross country championship Wednesday afternoon after-noon at Sugarhouse Park, easily outdistancing its competition and bringing the school its third state title in cross country in the last six years. Junior Mark Johansen took second overall in the race, while teammate and fellow junior Ryan Anderson took third. All five scoring runners for the Vikings were in the top 26, and Viewmont' s score of 51 was twice as low as runnerup Alta, which had 105 points. Davis High was third with 1 14. Complete details will appear in next Tuesday's issue of the Davis County Clipper, as the meet finished just before press time Wednesday. Congratulations to the Vikings. |
