| Show THE LAST VICTIM The Body of the Alta Chinaman Recovered Re-covered Prom the Snow I will be remembered that when the bodies of the Alta snow slide victims were recovered the rescuing party were unable to find that of Charley Foulk one of the Chinamen On last Friday I four volunteers renewed the search and I found the body the following day Foulk was the cook at Thomas hotel and when the slide came was at work in the kitchen The body was found about forty feet below the site Of the hotel covered by several feet of snow and debris I was considerably bruised and the skull was crushed showing that death must have been instantaneous The body was brought to this city last evening and taken to Sexton Taylors office The funeral took place from the Sextons office at 4 oclock this afternoon under the direction of his countrymen and the body was interred in their portion of the city cemetery Thus closes the last act of this sad tragedy Ten men came down from Alta yesterday yester-day and only thirteen are left thereAbout About a dozen men went up yesterday the most of them being Vallejo miners I is rumored that this company will commence com-mence immediately t repair the damage done by the slide I |
