A Cowboy Who Pounds the Piano There is a musical prodigy at the Palmer Pal-mer house and his name is A 0 Babbel of Seguin Texas better known as the Cowboy Pianist Lastnight played before a small but select audience and astonished it by his skillful execution and great taste Among the numbers given were The Carnival of Venice Selec tions from Norma Coming Thro the Rye with variations and The Geriz Schottische a piece of his own composi tion Mr Babbel plays entirely by ear and is a genuine cowboy never having been out of the State until about a month j ago He says the whole thing came to him naturally He is to give a private rehearsal at Weber Music hall on Mon hal 1Ion day and then under the management of L B Pike he makes his debut in music circles Drovers Journal
