Show Midvale man charged in drug sales FARMINGTON -- A 22-year-old Midvale man was sentenced to 1-15 years in the Utah State Prison, a $10,000 fine and $555 restitution to the Davis County Task Force for three counts of arranging for the sale of a controlled substance. James John Goris of 137 Parkway Park-way Drive, sold cocaine on three different occasions to a Davis County Metro Narcotics Strike Force agent. On Dec. 19 Mr. Goris sold a strike force agent one-eighth ounces of cocaine for $280. On Dec. 30, he again sold the same agent one-eighth ounce of cocaine for $285. From Feb. 2 to Feb. 7, Mr. Goris arranged to sell the agent six ounces of cocaine for $14,000. The transaction was never completed. com-pleted. In Second District Court, Judge Rodney Page said Mr. Goris' "involvement "in-volvement in the drug scene is more than just casual." He suspended sus-pended Mr. Goris' prison sentence to 30 days in the Davis County Jail, a $ 1 ,000 fine and $555 restitution to be paid to the task force. Mr. Goris must also complete the Salt Lake County Substance Abuse Program. |
