All -City Picked; Sooth Places Six Scribes List Outstanding "A" Gridders (Note: Some students may wonder won-der why the "All City" was picked before the last game. The next issue of the Scribe isn't due to come out until three weeks. Watch todays game and see if you would have selected the same boys for the Scribes "All City." Ends, Carabine South Wilkinson West Both boys are excellent pass snaggers and good defensive linemen. line-men. They both have a good reputation repu-tation for smearing the interference. interfer-ence. Tackles, Smith East Nagle South Here are two of the biggest boys in the Big Three competition. Any ball carrier would rather go to a dentist than face the task of being tackled by these two hard driving gridders. Guards, Angelos South Bowman East Here again are two really hard driving guards. They are quite small but they tackle as hard as either Nagle or Smith. Center, Dalebout South We could stop right there, because be-cause Jerry Dalebout is undoubtedly undoubt-edly one good center. An excellent excel-lent tackier and blocker. Fullback, Summerhays East He has a reputation that any gridder would like. No Big Three team could stop this 195 pound back. Some teams stopped him part of the game but he managed to rip holes in most any line. Halfbacks, Adams South Dibble East Two of the fastest backs in the city. Adams for his long punt returns re-turns and Dibble for his fast end ' sweeps. They both added plenty to their team's success. Quarterback and Captain, Lou Dods South A constant threat and good blocker. Scribes pick him best because be-cause of his outstanding leadership. leader-ship. His ability will never be doubted. Second team "All City" honors go to Keddington of South and Thomas of East at ends. Top gridders at tackles are Sheehan of West and Klebe of South. Both lads pushed the first stringers for the first team pick but needed the added push. Guards are Schofield of South and Leake of West. Clark of East gets the second nod for center. Backfield members are Story and Waters for South. Ashby and Kadder of West gain the other second string "All City" berths. |
