Show 'KISS ME KATE' COMING IN U OF U SERIES A smash Broadway musical and a great dramtatic opera will be presented as the University of Utah's annual outdoor summer festival in July. , "Kiss Me Kate," Cole Porter's musical that broke box office records rec-ords on Broadway three years ago, will open the festival July 7 and run through July 12. Saint Saen's operatic classic, "Samson and Delilah" De-lilah" opens July 17 and runs through July 19. Patricia Morison, the "Kate" of the original production, will re- create her Broadway role in Stadium Sta-dium Bowl. The male lead will be played by Jon Geyans, stellar bass-baritone bass-baritone of the New York City Opera Co. Claramae Turner, concert and operatic contralto, and Lloyd Thomas Leech, tenor with the New York City Opera Co., share leading lead-ing roles in "Samson and Delilah" with Geyans, who will sing the role of the high priest. Maurice Abravanel, director of the Utah Symphony and former conductor of both Metropolitan Opera and Broadway productions, is music director of the festival again.
