Show FIRE DAMAGES OTTLEY'S S.H. PAIHT POT Fire broke out in the rear of Ottley's Inc. (The Paint Pot) Tuesday afternoon, and before it could be quelled, it had wraught a damage in excess of $10,000. Loss was partially insured. The June month stock of paint for the three Ottley stores was in the rear room and was almost a total loss, Vaur Waters, the manager, reported. The Sugar Mouse store, one of the most enterprising business firms in the southeast area, was hit not only in its paint supplies, but its wallpaper and building as well, it was reported. According to the manager, My. ron Christensen, an employe, was bottling some paint thinner at the rear of- the bulding. He went into the store for some caps. When he returned, fire had flared all over the thinner which was exploding and casting blazing liquid over the rear of the property. Firemen battled the blaze until it had been controlled with smoke and water being the only damage in the front of the store. |
