SUGAR HOUSE QUEEN QUEST DELAYED WEEK The Suger House queen contest, already spurting near its gala climax, cli-max, this week was postponed a week in order to fill up the ranks of contestants and to accomodate some of the girls who are entered in other queen races. This postponement was decided on Friday by the board of directors of the Sugar House chamber of commerce, meeting at Beau Brum-mel Brum-mel cafe, Neisen R. Bank,' president, presi-dent, reported. Some of the Sugar House girls, among the prettiest in Utah, will be given a chance to participate in some other event by the delay, and at the same time it will give Continued on Page 7 QUEEN QUEST Continued from Page I additional girls a chance to get into the Sugar House swim, it was pointed out. Meanwhile, Richard James, queen contest chairman, said the pirze list had been built well above the $300 mark, and that more trophies were being added to the list which will be awarded the final judging night. Mrs. Frankie Nielsen, Jarnel proprietor and member of the com. mittee, too, is away on a buying trip, and the additional week will give her an opportunity to return to aid with the final arrangements. The chamber also discussed financing for the blouses for the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce band. This will be done in the near future, it was reported. Attending the director luncheon were Paul Pehrsqn, Horace A. Sor- ensen, Neuman Petty, Ray Free, James Cannon and President Bank. Special guest of the luncheon lunch-eon was Mickey Hart. |
