Show A HOD 71 A NUDGE Well, sir, the cooperative spirit of Sugar House business folk is a lot more than talk. Yes, indeed. Ottley's Paint Pot was badly burned this week, but it was open for business the very next day. Why? Well, about two dozen businessmen business-men rolled up their sleeves, put on overalls and had themselves a flock of fun washing down the smoke blackened walls, cans, commodities com-modities and other items. They worked until midnight, and Continued on Page 6 ROD-'fl-flUDGE Continued irom Page 1 when openng time rolled around next a. m., Ottley's was open for business only .the fire, smoke and water damaged rear and base- ment being unsightly to the public. A nod to the boys and gals who helped. Such neighbors are never forgotten, not only by the Ottley boys, but by one and all who know of such whole-hearted help. And, speaking of the chamber, there is no more vital or important civic organization in Sugar House than this bunch of doers of things. As a unit, the chamber tackles and solves scores of community projects every month. t is the liveliest group it has been our pleasure to meet. But, with all it does, there are still many who do not join up. Thev do not fail to take advantage of the good things the chamber does, but still they don't actively get in and work with the organization. organiza-tion. In any group of several persons there is always bound to be difference dif-ference of opinion, that is true. But the greatest good for the most is the chamber's chief aim, and there is really nothing personally per-sonally selfish or self-centered among the members who, as individuals, in-dividuals, do not hesitate to work and plug and hit hard for the job at hand. We sincerely believe it behooves everybusiness and professional man of Sugar Hous to join and participate. O - Among the most ardent fishermen fisher-men of Sugar House who took the sreams and lakes over the weekend was Scott Linnell, Peerless Peer-less Laundry executive, who hurried hur-ried out to Strawberry. A neice, however, had chosen Saturday night for her wedding reception, and Scott had to hurry back. Phil Grimm, the amiable fixit man at Phil & Joe's, took off Saturday Sat-urday night for Fish Lake to try out his motor and tackle. Jerry Shaw, a nine year older, caught three beauties at Spring Run, one weighing 2i pounds. |
