Show Post 65's 8th BirthdaySaturday Sugar House Post No. 65 of the American Legion Saturday is celebrating its eighth anniversary anni-versary at an annual birthday party at Memory Grove. Post 65 was organized in January, Jan-uary, 1940. Some of the highlights high-lights of the organization since its foundation are: charter granted March 15, 1940; colors dedicated March 17. 1941; clubhouse club-house founded at Rock Castle. April, 1947. Membership of the . post is 225 at present. Their goal, according to Commander John C. Grubb. is 450 members by the end of the year. Officers of the local American Legion post are: John C. Grubb. comander; Ernie Millgate, first vice commander; L. A. Ward, second vice commander; Lloyd " Wignall, adjutant: F. E. Holla-day, Holla-day, finance officer; Linford Jolley, historian; Howard Brinshurst, chaplain; Tom Hawkes, service officer, and Billy Brower, sergeant-at-arms. Executive committee members mem-bers are: D. J. McDonald, Paul Beecher, Reg Cornwell, Clay Mills and Bernard Hultquist. |
