Show TIRE SHORTAGE I BOTHERS TOURISTS The impossibility of securing i popular sized tires anywhere in I the state of Utah is keeping a , number of would-be vacationers home and putting fear into the hearts of tourists whose rubber has practically melted off their wheels as they pound along at high speeds over the country's hot roads. A number of tourists have been forced to wire ohme towns for tires to continue their trips, and others have been forced to wire home towns for tires to continue their trips, and others have been forced to garage their cars and return home via rail because of the tire shortage. The lack of tires is attributed to the fact that everyone who can turn a wheel is on the road and they have simply used up the available supply. Utah's roads along with others are becoming be-coming littered with blownout tire carcasses, and motorists limp to town on rims, vainly seeking, and willing to pay, for any old tire that will hold air. |
