Show Farewell Slated For Missionary On Sept. 19, a year to the day since his daughter, Marie, left for the eastern States mission, Kenneth W. Burnett will leave for the same field of labor. He will be honored at a farewell testimonial tonight (Friday), starting at 8 p.m. in the Bryan ward where, he has served as first counselor in the bishopric since the ward's organization about eight years ago. Speakers at the testimonial will be Bishop D. G. Emery, Albert Al-bert J. Banks and Bishop Charles -H.- 'Sorensen Musical numbers on the program will be given by a girls' chorus, a neigh-borhod neigh-borhod boys' chorus, Bishop and Mrs. J. Stuart McMaster, and members of the Burnett family. Two daughters, Mrs. LaRue B. Wilde and Marjorie Burnett will sing a duet, and a son, Leon, will play an oboe solo accompanied by a string quartet. A reading is scheduled by "Tillie Van Looney." Marie, who will be released to come home at the same time her father returns six months from now was attendant to the queen of the Days of '47 festival in July of 1945. |
