Show Fishing Good On Stravberry Strawberry reservoir zoomed into the forefront as one of Utah's best trout waters during the past week with numerous reports re-ports coming out of the popular Wasatch county angling spot of limit catches, Marion Madsen. superintendent of state fisheries announced this week. Madsen reported that he saw three limit catches taken out in a short period during one evening eve-ning on the reservoir with two of the trout tipping the scales at 10 pounds each. Most, nf the rainbow. Madsen I reported, are being taken on worms. Numerous natives are being taken on daredevils and wobblers. Fish lake also is holding up well, the veteran fisheries man reported, despite the heaviest demand de-mand in its history. Continued drouth in eastern section of the state is resulting in a very serious condition on the east slopes of the Uinta mountains, Madsen reported. "Unless relief is forthcoming immediately in the form of rain we are going to lose some fish in waters on these east slopes," Madsen asserted. "It is one of the most serious conditions in years." He cited as an example the Paradise park reservoir which has dropped eight feet in about two weeks. Similar conditions exist in all other reservoirs and streams in the area, he said. |
