Show Daily Lauglis Radio Comic Lists MC Notes Don McNeill, toastmaster of ABC's "Breakfast Club" spends much of his leisure time collecting col-lecting odd and curious bits of information from newspapers and periodicals concerning Incidents Inci-dents that actually occurred throughout the world. These he files in his McNote Book. A few of his 1947 McNotes from McNeill Mc-Neill follow: Number One: A man from Arizona was bitten by two dogs and was understandably worried. wor-ried. He rushed to a doctor who j. assured him he was all right The man got along fine, in fact, but both dogs died. Number Two: A real estate agency in Wisconsin has a slogan which seems particularly appropriate. ap-propriate. "We have lots to be thankful for." Number Three: A man in St Louis became a father at the age of 88 and explained to reporters re-porters that he'd kept himself fit by "chinning himself at leasf 50 times a day." Two days later a local company which manufacturers manu-facturers chinning bars received receiv-ed more than a hundred orders. Number Four: A writer who entertained friends at dinner instructed his new maid to serve the fish with a slice of lemon in the mouth. The maid looked sur- 1 prised but said nothing. When the guests arrived, she appeared with the fish . . '. and in her mouth she carried a piece of lemon. Number Five: A man in North Carolina found that the ways of iustice are sometimes odd. First he was found innocentnot inno-centnot guilty of stealing a ham. But the judge ordered him to give it back anyway. |
