Show PLENTY OF LUMBER PROMISED The nation is not running out of lumber, declares "Lumber Features," a National Lumber Association publication. "Today," say the lumber people, peo-ple, "modern lumbering practices prac-tices have turned the forest storehouse into a forest factory, producing new materials each year and growing trees to replace re-place those cut. i The United States produced 32 billion feet of lumber in 1946, and more land is being used for growing trees each year, .with the actual growth of new forest being doubled since 1929, it is pointed out. Concluding, s the lumber people declare: "With Jj the increasing interest in grow-ing grow-ing more trees in America we soon will be growing more forests for-ests yearly than we use." |
