Show ONE GRAND PARTY "LIFE ON PARADE," by Art Larson. CHAMBER OFCOMMERCEjP Tuesday evening, December 14, the members of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce, their wives wiv-es and guests forgot the war their business cares and all other oth-er problems for four hours of real enjoyment, at the gala Christmas party which was held at the Art Bam. Dinner was. served at 8 p. m. Before the guests had time to recover from over indulgence at the table, the room was filled fill-ed with laughter caused by the impersonating, and humorus stor-j ies told by Francis Urry, (one of the stories is told in the cartoon pictured below) . Folowing Mr. Urry's entertainment, entertain-ment, Virginia Freeze Barker sang folk songs accompanied by Miss Becky Almond at the piano. Next number was the family album, al-bum, each lady was requested to bring an old style picture of her better half taken away back in the good old days then, on the Q T the time honored spouse ran-sacked ran-sacked the house for any old pic- j ture of his wife and usualy unearthed un-earthed that "terrible picture" of her. These pictures were shown on a large screen and kept the aud ience in an uproar. For the ex-I ex-I hibits of the father some very sup-' sup-' er-imposing touches were added by showing him with a bathing beauty with her arms around his neck, it was all in fun and every one including the victims seemed to take it on the chin and like it we have had no reports of what happened when she got him alone. Mr. Urry added his bit by fitting his wit to each picture in a short commentary. Following the display of por-traits, por-traits, some very clever cartoons of Sugar House individuals were shown. Mr. Art Larsen protrayed the funny side of Sugar House. Walter Hampton very ably operated op-erated the projector. After the show dancing was enjoyed en-joyed by the members. A committeed consisting of Aurilla Bennion, Irene Conniff, Hi Young, Paul Frankauser, V. A. Tompkins, Sid Ottley and J. C. Barnes arranged the party. Don Hobbs president of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce addressed a word of appreciation ap-preciation to the members and a welcome to the guests. |
