Show Public Health Reports from local health officers of-ficers of cases of communicable disease show a total of 109 cases for the week ending August 1. 1941. This is the fewest number of cases reported for any week during the year 1941. The total for last week was 200 cases and for the corresponding week last year 179 cases. Thirteen of the twenty-nine counties in the State reported "no disease." Only 29 cases ' of whooping cough were reported as compared with 82 cases for the last week. Salt Lake city and Coalville reported each one case of typhoid fever. One case of tularemia was reported re-ported from the Veteran's Hospital, Hospit-al, the patient apparently contracted con-tracted the infection through the bite of an insect. One case of infantile paralysis was reported from Salt Lake City. V the patient is two and one half years of age. Other diseases reported were as follows: chickenpox 2, measles 8, German measles 3, mumps 5, scarlet fever 3, tuberculosis 4, gonorrhea 10. and syphilis 20. |
