NYA Raises Hour Schedules NYA RAISES HOlTt SCHEDULES SCHED-ULES TO SPEED DEFENSE WORK To speed up defense skills, the National Youth Adminstration for Utah announces that double time previously required will be scheduled for NYA youth in de-fens de-fens shops. The new 150 hour month for NYA trainees in the Out of School Work program, however, will include time spent in related training furnished by the State Departmen of Vocational Vocation-al Education through local schoois Sharp restrictions are being placed on the number of youth assignees to non-defense work projects but the quota has been raised on assignees to defense work. Non-relief Youth, 17 to 24, who have finished school, and who are without work or employment compensation are eligible for assignment as-signment to the NYA Out of j School Work Program . Youth I will be paid for part time production pro-duction work done for national, state, and local government agencies, agen-cies, strictly non-competitive with private industry. Many industries essential to defense report shortages of skilled skill-ed men therefore NYA assignees, to defense work experience will acquire trade skills in welding, sheetmetal, forge shop, machine shop, and radio to help in meeting meet-ing this shortage.
