Show LAND WITHDRAWN IN SOUTHWESTERN WYOMING The Secretary of Interior announced an-nounced this ' week that 11,840 acres of public land In the Green River project area in southeastern southeast-ern Wyoming had been withdrawn from entry. The withdrawn area is required in the event a dam and reservoiv are constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation on the Green River, the main uper tributary of the Colorado River, principally to store water for the irragation of lands in the Hams Fork area. The wtihdrawn land is located in township 21, 22 and 23 and ranges 116 and 117 west. The dam sites under investigation are on the Hams Fork, a tributary of the Green River, in the Rocky Mountains several hundred miles above Boulder Dam, monitor of the Colorado and bulwark of national nat-ional defense in the Pacific Southwest. |
