TINGEY ACEL KENT THACKER Silver Beaver Honors Three Davis County Scou-ters Scou-ters were among 46 men and women from the Great Salt Lake Council, Boy Scouts of America to be presented the Silver Beaver Awards. THEY ARE Neslin Banger-ter. Banger-ter. Acel Kent Thacker and Earl C. Tingey. Among the recipients re-cipients were Governor Scott M. Matheson and LDS Church Authority Rex D. Pinegar. who have demonstrated ex ceptional service to youth, community and Scouting. The presentations were made last Thursday evening in the Symphony Hall. THE TRIBUTE speaker was Congressman James Hansen. Congressman from Utah"s 1st Congressional District and longtime friend of Scouting. Presenting the awards were Council President, Earl C. Tingey and his wife. Joanne. Masters of Ceremonies for the evening were Mark VanWa-goner VanWa-goner of KSL Radio and Ms. Margaret Smoot of KSL-TV. THE SILVER Beaver Award is the highest award that a volunteer may receive from a local council. It is presented, pre-sented, upon approval of the National Court of Honor, for noteworthy service of exceptional excep-tional character to youth by registered Scouters. |
