IN I'TAH she has worked as an Infant Development Program Prog-ram nurse in the Wener-Morcan Wener-Morcan District Health Department De-partment and is currently a nurse consultant in private practice in the Ogden and Davis area. She has had extensive exten-sive experience in the developmental develop-mental assessment and management man-agement of infants and young children throughout her professional pro-fessional career. The next drop in class will be Mondav. Feb. 27 and they will be continued on the last Monday Mon-day of each month through May. The site for the meetings As new parents welcome a baby into the family, they often experience a variety of feelings and find themselves making many necessary adjustments ad-justments in their daily lives. Feelings of joy and excitement can be accompanied by anxiety anxie-ty and depression and there are many questions and dilemmas to be answered. THERE IS much written material available which can help parents at this crucial time but on occasion there is no one close by to help them sort out all of the information and put it into perspective. Considering the unique needs of new parents, pa-rents, the Davis School District's Dis-trict's Parent Education Resource Re-source Center is sponsoring a monthly drop in class "Enjoy Your Baby." The class is planned with the goal of offering basic helps in feeding, handling and understanding under-standing the newborn baby from birth to eight weeks of age. Time will be available to discuss special challenges and to share concerns. Those attending will receive written information about infant health care needs and various resources available in the Davis County area. THE DROP in classes are conducted by Atleen B. Coyn- er. RN. MS. FFAN. and Beulah S. Burgess. RN. MN. Both Mrs. Coyner and Mrs. Burgess have extensive experience ex-perience and educational background in working with families w ith infants and young children. Mrs. Coyner obtained a bachelors degree and master's degree in child nursing from the Univerr.itv of Utah College of Nursing. She was a Maternal Mater-nal Child Health Consultant for the Utah Department of Health for over 10 years. In that position she developed and administered the Utah Infant In-fant Development Program which serves developmentally disabled children birth to three years of age. FOR THE past three years she has taught infant parenting classes at the Parent Education Educa-tion Resource Center in the Salt Lake City School District. She is co-author of a recently published textbook. "Developmentally "De-velopmentally Disabled Infants In-fants and Toddlers: Assessment Assess-ment and Intervention." Mrs. Burgess holds a bachelors bache-lors degree in nursing from Loyola University and a masters mas-ters degree in child nursing from the University of California Califor-nia at Los Angeles.
