Show Band Parents To Raise $2500 Toward Uniforms Some ' time - ago a number of parents of Union High band students stu-dents met in the music room of the Union- High School and organized or-ganized temporarily to promote the acquisition of. uniforms for the band students. .., It wag brought out. at that meeting that it would be desirable de-sirable and .iprpbably necessary, if the students are to have uniforms uni-forms this fall, for the parents to' raise a minimum of $2,500 toward them. Mr. Hutchings, Union High School principal, stated that the school would d!o its best to furnish furn-ish the-balance of the money. It is estimated that the uniforms will costlnearly $4,000. The plan is to hurry the project pro-ject along this summer to have the quota of $2,500 ready bef ora school starts. According to Rex O. Curry, president, of the Band Uniform organization, the following plan was conceived whereby the money may be raised: 1. Each community to have one or more people designated as a local committee to raise money in that community. 3. Each' community committee to make ;its own decision as to how to raise money for band uniforms,; such as dances, socials, so-cials, etc.y 4. Voluntary contributions to be gratefully accepted, properly proper-ly receipted for and turned over to Wesley Dickerson at the Commercial Com-mercial Bank of Utah. Roosevelt, Roose-velt, or to Mrs. Lawrell Jensen, treasurer, to be deposited to the band uniform fund. 5. Each committee to designate desig-nate who. is to receive contributions contribu-tions and hold them Strictly accountable, ac-countable, for money received. Various organizations may be contacted to assist in raising' tne money and the committee urges their cooperation. .
