Show Kiwanis Honors Farmers At Weekly Meeting A dozen farmers in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt area were guests of the Roosevelt Kiwanis club last night at its regular weekly meeting, meet-ing, which was conceived and planned by the club's committee on Agriculture and Conservation. Conserva-tion. Louis Jensen, Duchesne county agricultural "agent, and Horace C. Allred, farmer and livestock raiser, were the principal prin-cipal speakers. They were introduced intro-duced by Wilford Robinson, committee com-mittee chairman, who also conducted con-ducted the meeting. A musical program was presented, pre-sented, consisting of vocal solos by Mrs. Joy Duncan and Miss LaJean Nielson; piano solo, Shauna Gilbert, and a dance number by Mrs. Duncan. Jack Burgess and Miss . Pauline Lar-sen, Lar-sen, first and second place winners, win-ners, respectively, in the recent American Legion Auxiliary essay es-say contest, presented their essays es-says to the group. Mr. Jensen explained the 4-H club program briefly to the club members and proposed rules to be followed in the Kiwanis' calf project that has been planned since the early part of 1951. In the near future, rules will be released re-leased to all 4-H chapters in the county for participation in the Kiwanis project. The committee announced that "Farmer's Night at Kiwanis" will become an annual affair, with the idea of bringing farmers farm-ers and business men closer together to-gether in their work. |
