Show Duchesne District Scouts Gain Awards At Camp Duchesne District scouts and explorers received 129 of the 588 scout awards made at the June 29 Four-District High Uintah Court of Honor. Cliff Mickelson, district advancement chairman, officiated in the presentation of awards. Duane Rhoades of Tabiona, Post2263, received his First Class badge and cooking merit badge. Ferrell Young of the same troop received his cooking merit badge. From Tabiona, Post 2263, Lynn Turnbow and Merrell Turnbow recevied merit badges. Lynn re-cevide re-cevide his in nature, public speaking speak-ing and camping. Merrell earned public sepaking, cooking and the camping merit bodges. 'All four scouts from Hanna, Troop 265, received awards at the Court of Honor. Richard Moon camping and cooking merit badges; Ronald Hackett received his Star rank and camping and cooking merit badges. Larry Wil-cken Wil-cken received' his Star badge and camping merit badges. The camping camp-ing merit badge also went to Larry Defa. In Bridgeland, Troop 247, Lewis Clegg received his second class badge, Leland Clegg ,his tenderfoot, tender-foot, and Douglas Murhpy his First Class award. Jerry Shields of the Bridgeland, Post 2247; earned merit badges for swimming, cooking and citizenship citi-zenship in the community. David Clegg also of the post earned his tenderfoot. , Nine scouts from Duchesne, Troop 268, earned awards: Lowell Moeller his tenderfoot; Norvel Nielsen his second ' class;, Wyane Brown his first class; and Garry Stutz his Life. Fishing merit badges were earned by Ronald Stutz, Keith Lisonbee and Wayne Brown. Barry Jordan and Allen Moon earned he first aid meritt badge; Barry another in cooking; Garry earned awards in wood-carving, wood-carving, public speaking and safety; safe-ty; and Ronald Bishop for home explorers of Duchesne, Post 2268 earned arwards: Jerry Moon for animal industry, farm mechanics, life saving, fireman-ship; fireman-ship; Robert Rowley life saving, camping and muisc; Bill Wardle for fishing; Joe Cowan for fishing fish-ing and home repairs; and Calvin Kietbasa for public speaking and home repairs. ' Neill C. Jensen, district commissioner, com-missioner, received his Star badge and firemanship merit badge. Ten scouts of the new Utahn Troop 760, earned second class badges: Allen Wright, Allen Broad-head, Broad-head, Allen White, Thomas White, Douglas Broadhead, Larry Abplan-alp, Abplan-alp, Richard Lewis, Bryon Robb, Lynn White and Ned Anderton. Home repairs and cooking merit badges were presented to the following fol-lowing boys of Utahn: Alien Wright, Allen Broadhead, Allen White, Thomas White, Douglas Broadhead, Larry Abplanalp, Richard Rich-ard Lewis, Lynn White, Ned Anderton and Earl Anderton. Earl also earned art and woodcarving merit badges. Bryon Robb received re-ceived his cooking merit badge. Thomas J. Hamilton of Arcadia, Troop 259, earned his second class badge with merit badges for fishing and cooking. Six first class badges were presented pre-sented to boy scouts of Arcadia, Troop, 259: Ronald Capson, Leon Ross, Laird Evans, Evan Lusty, Baird Evans and Jack Frost Gilbert. Gil-bert. Ardon B.. Evans, scoutmaster, scoutmast-er, received his Star award. Fishing, cooking and soil and water conservation merit badges went to the following boy scouts of Arcadia, Troop 25'9: Ronald Capson Leon Ross, Laird Evans, Evan Lusty, Baird Evans and Ardon B. Evans. Mr. Evans also received his first aid merit badge. Jack Frost Gilbert earned fishing, cooking and first 'aid. Ronald Cap-son Cap-son also received first aid merit badge. From Arcadia, Post 2259, Fred f Evans received merit badges in camping, home repairs, cooking, fishing and first aid. Robert Tanner Tan-ner earned his apprentice, firemanship, fire-manship, camping, fishing, home repairs and public speaking merit badges. Next Duchesne District Court of Honor will be held Sunday, Aug. 5, at 3 p.m. in the Duchesne LDS Chapel, concluded Mr. Mickelson. |
