Show Church News The Mt. Emmons girls softbaU team was defeated by Boneta at the Altamont rodeo grounds July 19. The Stake MIA correlation meeting was held at the Mt. Emmons Em-mons Ward Wednesday. After the . general meeting a dance practice was held for the square dancing groups who took part in the July 24th celebration on the lawn of the church. James Evans recently returned from a mission in England, and was the principle speaker at the Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. eve-ning. Stake -High Counselor Joseph H. Mr. ' and Mrs. Ray Hanberg motored' to Preston, Idaho to attend at-tend a reunion of the Baird family. fam-ily. Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Buchanan attended a Buchanan family reunion re-union at American Fork. They visited' friends in Provo before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. William Evans took a scenic trip to Rocky Mountain . Park and Denver, turning turn-ing north and west again through Wyoming into Montana and Glaci-ier Glaci-ier National Park and the Water-ton Water-ton Lakes in Canada to Cardston, returning from there through Wells, Nevada, into Salt Lake City where they visited relatives. Since coming home the Evans have played' host to their nephew, James Evans and family, of Salt Lake City. Their son, Don Evans, and family spent a few days with them having -been discharged from the Army to attend school at the University of Utah. Mrs. Aleen Case and boys visited vis-ited five days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Carlyle, of Woodland. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hartman, Katherine, Cynthia and Randy visited! in Denver over the weekend. week-end. On the way they stopped at Craig, Colo., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ted Monks and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Monks. Mr. and Mrs. LaVerl Christen-son, Christen-son, Carroll, Jean and Linda of Provo were houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hartman July 17. Junior and Kathleen Sixkiller have been staying with Bruce and Paula Iorg. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Denver of St. George were at the Iorg home Sunday. Junior Jenkins of Ballard is in the hospital in Salt Lake City, and his son,- Tommy, is visiting his aunt, Mrs. Lyard' McConkie. Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Buchanan ' dined at the McConkie home Sunday evening. Mrs. Pearl McConkie and her grandchildren, Shirley, Dixie and Jeanne, attended the Jessen family fam-ily reunion held at the Indian Canyon picnic grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen dorve to Salt Lake City to attend the funeral of Mr. Edgar Thayne, father of Mrs. Edith F. Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Garfield and two sons of Draper visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Evans. The Variety Club met Monday afternoon for a short meeting to choose a candidate for Queen of the UBIC. Miss Gayle Case was their unanimous selection and her name and picture were submitted in accordance . with the rules . of the contest. |
