Show MONTWEL May L. Mower BREAKS ARM Shirley Mower had the misfortune mis-fortune to break her right arm Sunday while playing follow the leader with her older brother. Shirley is 7 years old and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mower. Just two days before she broke her arm, her older sister, Karen, cut her head quite badly with an ax. Both girls are doing fine. Mrs. Blanchard took her Sunday Sun-day School class to a movie in Roosevelt Friday night. The class had won this honor in a recent talent show in the ward. The Boy Scouts and explorers and their parents with the Mutual Mu-tual officers held a supper athe ward house Friday evening. The Explorers were presented with the trophy for sportsmanship given to them for their clean basketball playing in the stake the past two years. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Blanchard and her father, Mr. Reynolds, visited vis-ited relatives over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Joel Parry and family of Orem are visiting at the Hannah Parry and Melvin Parry homes this weekend. Mrs. Virginia Neilson of the Junior High School faculty visited her students who are taking summer sum-mer courses under her direction. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Parry received re-ceived word this week that they were grand'jrents again of a baby girl, born July 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Glade Calder of Seattle, Washington. A baby girl was born July 15 in Ogden to Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Mower of Layton. The baby weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. The proud grandparents are Mrs. Violet Es-kelson Es-kelson of Richmond and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mower of Montwel. SHOWER GIVEN A pink and blue was held Saturday Sat-urday afternoon for Mrs. Sharon Bird. The hostess was Mrs. EsteL-la EsteL-la Shaw. Games were played' and refreshments were served to fifteen fif-teen guests. Mrs. Donna Bird, Mrs. Lois Bird and Mrs. Bill Ostler Ost-ler and Mrs. Marva Mecham of Roosevelt were among the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Johnson of Idaho Falls are visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shaw. Pressure cookers were tested at Mrs. Eva Johnson's home Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Parry and Mr. and Mrs. Cornel Parry of Salt Lake City returned home from a trip to Wyoming where they visited with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. James L. Powell and son, Nelson, are spending a few days in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Boren are the proud parents of another boy born July" 16. ' .7" Mr. and Mrs. Louis Loranger returned recently from Wyoming where they went to get their daughter, Barbara, who has been visiting there for a few weeks. Mrs. Hannah Blanchard has been enjoying a visit from her son and family of California. SURPRISE PARTY GIVEN A birthday party was given as a surprise to Frank Thompson by his family Friday night. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roberts and their families, Mr. and . Mrs. Edmond Thompson and family, Mrs. Beulah Mathews and daughter, daugh-ter, Elaine, and Gardell. Powell and Lester Thompson. Mr. Thompson Thomp-son was 67 years old Monday. |
