Show I Native Of Africa Visits Ballard Sunday School Ballard had an unusual visitor vis-itor at Sunday school last Sunday Sun-day a native of West Africa. He has been touring the United States for some time and two years ago had visited at Fort Duchesne. He was dressed in his native costume, which was interesting to all, and when asked to talk, gave an inspiring short address. His desire was to visit a Mormon church. He commented on our procedure pro-cedure and on the hospitality of the Mormon people. He took an active part in the parents' class, and asked that Mormon missionaries be sent to his locality. lo-cality. He was accompanied by Albert Harris, of Ft. Duchesne, ; and Bishop Ashael Perry, of the i Moffat ward. He left soon after Sunday School to go to Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger, their daughters, Lorraine and Dianne, and son, Geddis, went to Provo Friday to attend the graduation grad-uation of their daughter and sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Bonnie Hullinger Brim-hall, Brim-hall, from the B.Y.U. Mrs. Brim-hall Brim-hall received her bachelor of arts from the college of fine arts. The Hullingers proceeded on to Preston, Idaho, to visit relatives. Boyd Collins, son of Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins, is home on a vacation. Boyd attends at-tends school at Ogden. The many friends of Mrs. Cecil Ce-cil Jenkins were shocked to hear of the untimely death of her father, Bart Merkley. of Vernal, Saturday. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family- , , , Mrs. Carma Nelson and daughter, daugh-ter, of Chico, Calif., is visiting at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Asay. Mrs. Evelyn Eaton, of California, Cal-ifornia, is visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Angus Anderson. An-derson. Henry Marshall and his son-in-law, Sam Lee, of Salt Lake City, and Robert Marshall, of Independence were visitors Sunday Sun-day morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken. They, with their wives, were week end visitors at the Robert Marshall home. They were former form-er Basin residents. Mr. and Mrs. Art Anderson, of Dragerton, and Mr. and Mrs. : Alvin Mowry, of Tod Park, To-ele, To-ele, were visitors at the homes i of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Ander- son and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stewart and Mrs. W. S. Mann, of Vernal. Mr. Stewart had just returned from Japan. Bernard Larsen and son, and Vaughn Simper, Ensign Clark and Golden Heed have returned , from Wyoming, where they had I been working during the haying j season. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Garrison and two sons, of Los Angeles, visited at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire Man-gum, Man-gum, several days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Womack went to Ogden one day last week to attend funeral services for their niece's husband. Mrs. Leland Angus and daughter. daugh-ter. Bee, went to Provo Saturday, Satur-day, August 18, to get Mrs. Angus' An-gus' father, Wm. Lewis, who had spent several weks visiting oth-1 er daughters in that area. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Mark Angus An-gus while in Provo. Bernice Lundberg, a twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lundberg, cut one of her arms at the chapel Sunday, Aug. 19. She was taken to Roosevelt for medical attention, Nine stitches were required to close the wound. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Ander-son Ander-son motored to Salt Lake City Thursday evening, Aug. 23, where LeRoy played ball with a team from Roosevelt. |
